News Group Posting Rules
For Newbees and "Oldbees"

Try to help the majority of users and make reading and posting more fun for all of us!

NOTE: This List is Updated Frequently... Thank You

  1. Know what the News Group that you are currently in, is all about and Don't Post OFF TOPIC...

Keep your Subject limited to whatever the NG is designed for... if it's HTML then Post ONLY HTML-Related Questions or Statements! If it's a more general NG then still, keep your Subject ON TOPIC and avoid "socializing" or "cluttering-up" the board with "gossip" or meaningless remarks! Board space is very Valuable and all of us want to feel free to get our fair share of it...

  2. Don't use meaningless or vague Subjects for your Post...

Subjects like: "Help" or "I can't figure this out" are not going to enable Helpers to know specifically what you mean or want... and your chances of getting a useful Reply (or any Reply at all) are diminished a great deal by using vague Subjects!

  3. Don't SPAM...

We are all annoyed by selfish, repetitive, and usually Off-Topic Posts (you know who you are)! If you have VALUABLE INFORMATION which will HELP all or a majority of readers, then Post it...

  4. ALWAYS Read Thru the complete list of previous Posts...

Chances are good that someone else has asked or replied to the SAME Subject (more reason to be Specific in your Subject)!

  5. TURN OFF YOUR HTML Sigs...

HTML itself was Designed for webpages and using it in emails or NG Posts is cute but not helpful to readers who are NOT INTERESTED in your knowledge of customizing emails or Posts... UNLESS the NG you are currently in, is about that (HTML Sigs) Subject! Using HTML not only adds to the load time, and frustration for readers (music is NOT enjoyable for information gathering... it gets old fast), but can cause units to "freeze-up" or "crash"... so save your HTML for webpage design where it belongs!

Here are some articles you should read about why you should NOT use HTML in Emails:

  6. Give Us A REFERENCE LINK...

If your problem refers to a webpage or to some HTML Code, PLEASE give the URL of the page so that we can quickly assist you...
