Scotch & Soda Trick

Magician magically changes a Mexican Centavos and an English Penny into a Half Dollar and Quarter, in his hand! Can be done in the spectator's hand too!

#12 The Scotch And Soda Trick
Uses the Scotch And Soda trick coins

The coins use a shell which can hold a hidden real coin inside, and a double faced coin which has a mexican centavos on one side and a half dollar on the other side

The shell has an english penny on the outside face

As the trick is performed the coins are slid together in the closing hand and the shell clicks over the other coin and locks it in, that coin is a double faced coin with a mexican centavos on the face up side and a half dollar on the underneath side, but hidden beneath that coin in the palm is a real quarter

So when the hand turns over to reveal the two coins they appear to have changed into a half dollar and a quarter

Other variations can be performed with this astounding trick, letting the spectator reach into the magicians hand and slide out 'The smaller" of the two coins, which turns out to be a quarter... or even more amazing... the magician after closing his hand (which does the shell locking) can place the coins into the spectator's hand and have him quickly close it, so he doesn't see whats there... then he can reach into his own fist slowly and remove the "Smaller Coin" and as he pulls out the quarter, the magician turns over the spectator's fist and tells him to open it, revealing the shell face up which looks like a half dollar...
