The trick is done with a prepared deck ("the MacDonald Aces")... 3 extra aces are used and 3 other cards are prepared on their back side with a strip of "double-sided" tape added to the card in the center, so that if another card is gently "pressed" to the back of that card, it will stick and form a "double" card!
