The trick is done with a unique apparatus table, which defies belief that a person cannot be "Squeezed" up into the *upper half* of the covering box... even while showing partially their upper torso and lower legs thru open side panels!
The Magician has a hidden remote-control device that can move the DUMMY LEGS (very slightly). They can even be slightly moved while the panel is open and the Blades are pushed down... the DUMMY Legs are initally *hidden* but fold into view to give the appearance that the legs are still there while the table apparatus is separated into two halves!
Since no trap doors or other concealing mechanisms are used in the very thin undercarriage; the girl simply is clothed in loose fitting clothes and practices many times beforehand on how to draw her lower torso up to her chest while slightly turning sideways to her left, while keeping her head straight! The top half of the box is wide enough to just allow this concealment...
